Superman vs. The Elite | Movie Review

I’m continuing my journey through the DC Animated Movie Universe with the next entry of Superman vs. The Elite. This is my first adventure with The Elite, and I can definitely see how they would translate to live action with a very similar story.

The question asked in this movie is the same one that is asked a lot of Superman in various ways. “Is Superman the hero that the world needs right now?” The answer is, of course, yes. Superman is always the hero that the world needs.

The Elite, led by Manchester Black, believe that they need to truly punish the perpetrators of violence in the one way that Superman won’t. They need to kill them.

Obviously, that’s where things come to a head with Superman who does believe in justice which is a core part of of his morality. He doesn’t kill people, because good people don’t kill others.

At this point, I’ve never read a comic with Manchester Black in it. My only experience with the character is from the Arrowverse Supergirl show, and I don’t know if that portrayals was accurate or completely different. I will say that I enjoyed the TV version over the one in this movie.

The character is definitely an interesting one that I believe would fully work in the new DC Universe alongside David Corenswet’s Superman.

The Selection Series 2: The Elite (2013)

A ver, es un libro entretenido, pero tiene el defecto de ser la parte intermedia de una trilogía. Al igual que el primero, parece terminar en un momento aleatorio. Echo en falta un cliffhanger impactante de segunda parte al estilo "En Llamas" o "El Imperio Contraataca".

Pero es muy fácil de leer así que voy a seguir con esta saga porque es lo que me pide el cuerpo.
