There is a "train wreck in slow motion" effect that comes from already knowing what the responsible authorities are only just now discovering. The planners were not planning on the droughts becoming worse, because the planners did not believe in climate change, because believing in climate change did not promote the interests of the petroleum industry. If you want to understand what #arrogance is (and how some exploit white privilege), just watch the conduct of attorney Ashleigh Merchant in Judge McAfee's court today in the Willis-Wade relationship mess in the Georgia election subversion case.
She seriously believes she can bamboozle witnesses, opposing counsel, even the judge with her fast talking & double speak. The #temerity. 😠
Compare that to the mannerism of state's attorney, also a white woman.
