Restarting my habit of reading a technical book for 30 minutes every day. It worked pretty well last year when I finished 3 different books that had been gathering dust in my bookshelf for a while. This time I'm reading two books at the same time (in alternate days): "Hypermedia Systems" (https://hypermedia.systems) and "Build a Large Language Model (From Scratch)". #books #habit #technicalBooks

14th Aug 2026. How often do you reread what you’ve written after it’s "done"?I reread completed chapters while still in the process of writing more.
I reread everything at least twice when I'm "finished".
I reread relevant sections when my technical reviewer comments.
I reread relevant sections when my copy editor has completed his/her review.
I reread everything just before we go to press.
Then I'm done!

The Mythical Man Month by Fred Brooks has been on my reading list longer than I'm willing to admit, but I'm happy that this has finally changed...

Does O'Reilly even publish books anymore?
I remember them as having the best guides for all sorts of things and now I see their books pop up in searches, but they are all from before 2014.
Which publisher do you use to learn new tech if you are the type of person, like myself, who learns best from books?
I'd love recommendations. Please boost.
