By far the most abundant #fish in the River Little Ouse headwaters at Prince Freddy's Meadow, Blo' Norton is the Threespine Stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus), including some huge shoals (maybe 100+), some big females, but few males in breeding colours. #rivers #teamfish #ukwildlife #nature 5/19

Besides the 2 or 3 pools of Dace, the only other cyprinid fish I saw in 900 m of the River Little Ouse headwaters, was this lovely shoal of Common Roach (Rutilus rutilus) cohabiting with some good size European Perch (Perca fluviatilis), all in fine health youtu.be/Nd2j3dUZ8-M?... #teamfish 3/19

In addition to the shoal of Roach & Perch I met in the River Little Ouse headwaters, I spied a single Perch feeling confident it was invisible hiding under a root. With Roach big enough no longer to be a Perch prey item, they mix with the Perch who dislodge Roach prey while foraging. #TeamFish 4/19

This weekend, such a privilege to explore the wondrous main channel of a River Test tributary in Hampshire.
A highlight of this chalk stream was the abundant, exquisite Grayling parr, here energetically feeding with Minnows youtu.be/vZ360iCMro4?.... #MySwim #Rivers #Fish #teamfish #ukwildlife 1/25

Look at this handsome monster Brown Trout in a glorious sun spun pool of the River Wissey, the biggest of many big #fish I met there Friday before last. King of the River. King of a favourite river.
