I think I've developed a bit of an obsession for Dream Theater's "Pull Me Under". It's so fucking catchy and I woke up with the insatiable urge to figure out that synth solo. I got it more or less memorized but I really need to work on my speed for that one quick lick in the middle, and work on finesse amd precision and consistency
i spent literal hours today bouncing between this synth solo, and working on some of the bass parts too (not seen ir heard in this video). John Myung remains crazy challenging to follow, but I really dig the bass parts that are within my short term grasp
but yeah this synth solo is insanely fun to try to learn, and I'm satisfied with my progress for my first time trying it, tho clearly I have a ton of work to do still

Snappy, synthy and sunny #soul #funk with heavy '80s vibes and crisp production. Think Jarreau '83 – that #synthBass, the #synthSolo! Perfect. (I only wish I could have lent a hand with the horn arrangements on a few of the other tracks!)
