#syncforlemmy — Public Fediverse posts

For the longest time, #SyncForLemmy was my primary #Lemmy client because it was the best, but I've kept my eye on the alternatives and I have to give credit where it's due and #RaccoonForLemmy; It's not as aesthetically pleasing as Sync, but it makes up for it with its feature completeness. It's honestly a real competitor now and a real force for the #Fediverse.

@jake_a I've been pretty happy with Sync for Lemmy. It provides an ungodly amount of customization to suit your style of browsing.

Steep price to get rid of ads ($20), but I'm happy to support the development of an app whose predecessor (Sync for Reddit) I used for 9+ years.

So, #syncForLemmy (aka #syncForReddit but for lemmy) is now available in beta stage. Personally I'm more of a Boost kinda guy so I'm not super interested in it, but I already see people complain about the one-time purchase price. It's 22€. Now, that is indeed high. Some might say very high. But you have to understand that lemmy is niche with a lot (a lot lot) less users than reddit. Meaning the "few" people on lemmy gotta spend more than the many of reddit to end up in a similar profit range.

So, Sync for Lemmy released yesterday and it's great. You can't tell you're on Lemmy and that's a big deal.

There is a clear divide in opinion on Lemmy. On one hand, this could help adoption but the tracking and subscription model isn't great. The one-time payment is the same as paying for 6 years of subscription. *ugh*

This may change with Boost and other clients showing up. Infinity for Lemmy is free anmd void of the tracking supposedly.

The app is just plain amazing to use and light years ahead of any other Lemmy client but the free version includes Google ads and tracker and payments are done through Google Play so I can't use it properly on my degoogled phone! :(

@[email protected] with #syncforlemmy , my Lemmy experience became 10x better! Still mostly waiting for #BoostForLemmy though. Also just created this new account to test out #FireFish. Doesn't play all that nice with my #Moshidon (#Mastodon -fork) app though.

I deleted #Reddit from my phone, and moved over to using #Lemmy due the past few weeks.
I started by using LiftOff as my Android client, but with today's release of #SyncForLemmy I've switched to this client, as it has a nicely polished UI.

I am not yet convinced that #Lemmy will end up being a viable replacement for #Reddit, but the new #syncforlemmy Android client is now available for download on the Play Store. I really like it so far. It's by far the best Lemmy client for Android.

Good news for the #threadiverse:

Today #syncforlemmy launched and this week we also see the first public beta of #artemisapp for #kbin by @hariette.

My first impression of sync: it's good, it allows me to use #Lemmy the way I used #Reddit. Don't know how much better it gets with an Account, as I only have one for kbin. Some apps only allow limited home instances without an account, here I can freely choose whichever.

Personally am more excited to try Artemis

Oh wow, the developer behind my go to Reddit app is developing #SyncForLemmy.

That's awesome news as the only android option (Jerboa) seems a bit too finicky to recommend for newcomers to the fediverse.
