#crdroid möchte gerne updaten über eine Majorversion heißt einmal neu, Firmware könnte auch mal aufgefrischt werden. #Swiftbackup sein Ding machen lassen. Ein Datenordner ging nicht, wegen FAT32 auf der SD, also Cloud, ah nur mit Premium, na jut 12,99 was solls. Alles erledigt und dann...angeblich keine Backups da.
Durch den Kauf von Premium hat es einen anderen User angelegt. Uffa, musste erst mal drauf kommen und fixen. Ich wär jetzt wach. 😅 #backup -

Back in the early days of Android, Titanium Backup was considered the go-to backup solution for those with full root access. Its impact on the power user community over the years is undeniable. However, Titanium Backup's days are numbered because the original developer no longer updates the app.

ADB backup APIs are deprecated by Google and most apps do not work with the ADB backup method any more.
One caveat though is that private app data, in /data/data/ or /data/user/*/ that stores your app preferences, login info, databases, etc, still requires root access, and can't be handled by Shizuku. However, the APK, app external data, and media can be backed up. So re-authentications may be required, but I suppose it does still save masses of time from not having to re-download each app.

What with Google having abandoned my #Pixel3a in terms of new #Android updates (including security ones), I took the plunge over the weekend and installed #LineageOS (20) on it. I was pretty glad I'd unlocked the bootloader back when I got it, since that meant I could root it and do a full backup (although I wish I'd done a proper #Signal backup, since restoring the one I took with #SwiftBackup just causes it to crash on launch), and I'm pretty happy with how smoothly it went and how I now have a better experience:
- The stock OS had got really slow in some areas lately, especially when taking pictures. This doesn't happen any more!
- I can finally use Google Pay, uh, Wallet! (I think. I've not tried paying for anything yet, but I'm at least allowed to add cards now, which I wasn't before.)
- I can finally use the USB C MicroSD reader I've been carrying around with me on my keyring that the stock OS never seemed to be able to use, which also means I can easily review my bike camera footage on my phone. Which would have been really useful when I was hit by a car in 2021 (the reader got dented but still works)
Anyway, tl;dr, LineageOS is working better than the stock OS for me but also if you use Signal make sure you do a proper backup
