Hey @writingcommunity - anyone else having a lot of trouble with #submittable? I keep getting error messages from #cloudflare so cannot log on to send out work - even when I'm logged into my own account on another tab?! (frustratingly, no way to submit from that other tab) Any workaround? #techproblems

Now, most submissions are done via email or via Moksha, Submittable or similar. What do you think of this?

It's much easier to work on something right up to the deadline--and you won't be stopped if you have a printer problem or run out of supplies!

As an anthologist, it makes it much easier to receive submissions from all over the world. It's also better for the environment. So, definitely in favor.

Link is to open letter to #Submittable, #literary #magazines regarding policies that attract BIPOC or other poorly represented #writers to submit work. Some #journals receive federal money & might be in violation of anti-affirmative action rulings as SCOTUS has recently made in Harvard/University of North Carolina cases. I don’t know if this is meant to be a clever protest or a cynical move or what. But here it is.

It’s happened again. I worked on a personalized cover letter for a magazine listed in Submittable as having free submissions only to find out the tip jar is mandatory. What a waste of my time.
