  1. Purple donkey orchids (Diuris punctata) and Trigger plants (Stylidium sp.) on the edge of Croajingalong National Park, East Gippsland, VIC.

Most of the trigger plants out here were this very attractive pale-flowering form with tall flower spikes.

  2. My life isn't all #motorcycles

I've been fascinated by the beauty of native plants ever since buying our own chunk of the #BlueMountains. When I parked today, these practically leapt out at me. Only small, but look at that colour! #Stylidium, or trigger plant. As the insect investigates, the flower's floral column triggers, whacking the insect with a load of pollen.

We get stylidium at home, too, but they're paler pink.
