Making the most of this warm autumn day in the #Cairngorms rolling along an old favorite; Pass of #Ryvoan, #OldLoggingWay and home on #SpeysideWay ... 45km of beauty .... and some good company too.

With Moray on the steam train this morning to Boat of Garten, coffee and fantastic home made cake at the Gashouse Cafe, then walk back via the Speyside Way (although we tend to use the quieter paths in the woods as the Speyside Way can be busy). And we saw the steam train on its way back.

Someone did an amazing job putting it together with about a hundred quid's worth of rope and carabiners.

Home again from a grand adventure: Walking the #SpeysideWay with my brother - it was spectacular to see Spring beginning to spring in the north of #scotland
We met lots of lovely people along the way, including a kind person who told us about a (surprisingly well made) tree swing in the woods - faith in humanity, and treeswing builders reaffirmed!

New 266km #bikepacking route around the #Cairngorms National Park, starting at #Aviemore railway station. It follows the Old Logging Way and then takes in the #SpeysideWay, The #CateranWay, The #DeesideTrail, Sustrans National Route 7, and a whole lot of incredible Scottish wilderness before finishing back in Aviemore again.
This looks a cracking weekend trip and I'm adding it to my wishlist! ♥️

These metal artworks in the woods always remind me of the lamp post in Narnia, which grew magically from a bit of old lamp post thrown on the ground. Maybe these have grown magically from bits of scrap metal blown from the recycling centre just across the railway.
