This video shows the "pollution" of the CaH line with the H-epsilon line. It's an animation at +-3Å from the center of the CaH line. It clearly shows the filaments reappearing at 3970Å, at the position of the H-epsilon line! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSuIDOAc4qU

The web based analyzer for the spectrometer is coming together, although I still have to figure out a few things. This screencapture shows a few of the features, but nothing serious, just sliding the sliders and buttoning the buttons, then cycling through a few colors on the lamp in front of the phone.

I started to work on a mini pocket spectrograph, the 3D model will be available for download, I just need to tune a few things.

I am also working on a little web based stuff to make sense of the things seen, strictly locally in the browser, on the client side.

It's a fun random side project, though I already bought about 8 different light bulbs just to see their spectrum...

2/3 … La mesure du champ magnétique d’une étoile est rendue possible grâce à l’effet Zeeman. Cet effet montre qu’au sein d’un spectre, certaines raies “magneto-sensibles” vont se diviser en plusieurs composantes en présence d’un champ magnétique. 1/3 - Mesurer le champ magnétique d’une étoile depuis son jardin c’est possible ! Le spectrographe Star’Ex associé à une petite lunette de 72mm permet de faire des spectres hautes résolution d’étoiles brillantes. Voici mes premiers résultats sur l’étoile brillante α2 CVn située à environ 110 années-lumière de nous.
