Phillipe Soupault

Sporting Goods

As courageous as a postage stamp
he went on his way
clapping his hands softly
to count his steps
his heart as red as a wild boar
was beating was beating
like a rose and green butterfly
From time to time
he planted a little satin flag
When he had walked for a long time
he sat down to rest
and went to sleep
But since that day there have been many
clouds in the sky
many birds in the trees
and much salt in the sea
There are many other things too

Kürzlich ausgelesen: Im Frühjahr 1951 reist Ré Soupault von Basel nach Avignon, kauft sich dort ein Fahrrad mit Hilfsmotor (VéloSoleX) und bereist damit ein paar Tage die Gegend um Nizza und Cannes, bevor sie mit dem VéloSoleX zurück nach Basel fährt. Im Herbst des selben Jahres fährt sie – alleine – mit diesem Rad von Basel bis München und zurück durch das kriegszerstörte Süddeutschland, in Erwartung von Aufträgen des Bayerischen Rundfunks. Beide lesenswert. #bücherliebe #soupault

It fixes a major regression that broke auto-generated pages (those generated by index processors) if they were to be saved to a directory that didn't already exist (thanks to Yiming Xiang for pointing that out).
It also adds a new plugin function: Sys.strip_extension()

One of my reasons for a design decision in #soupault that allows it to process infinitely large websites with limited memory but complicates its internal logic a lot was "but what if someone wants a static version of Wikipedia".
A complete dump of Wikipedia is about 86GB uncompressed.

Looks like you can rent a cloud instance with Aarch64 and 512GB RAM from Amazon now for just about $3/hr. The problem I solved (rather creatively, I want to think) doesn't really exist now.
And even without clouds, swapping to NVMe is probably a viable solution to that problem, now that it's difficult to find a machine with any spinning rust in it.
I'm going to drop that in the next release.

I like the idea of JSX but in #Lua. A solid choice if you want both template engine and plugin system while keeping the binary small. I wish someday #Soupault adopt this.

🧠💡: a static web (html/js/css) pre compiler ssg (like #soupault) that can also generate native web components out of .html files and embeds them into your pages?

Basically like #svelte but with no js subset stuff, just native web. Does #sveltekit kind of do this?

I mean #reefjs is basically this, but you still have to statically bundle the framework.

Anyone know of something like this that exists already?
