Sold three of last year’s soay ewe lambs to lovely people who keep sheep in mid Wales. The ewe lambs have been with their mothers since birth and have been part of the flock during the arrival of this year’s lambs. After they had gone off in the trailer one of the mothers, who has new lambs of her own, was calling for several hours, I think, for her last year’s lamb. The family bonds are very strong in this primitive breed it seems. #Defaidodon #soay

'tis the day for sheep pictures! Here my friend's lamb is giving the camera an impressive side-eye while I helped shear his uncle.
I took home about 30g of Soay fleece that day and spun it into yarn, which I was pleased to give back to my friend this past weekend. It's so soft. SO soft.

Weaned the ram lambs this morning and combined them with the bigger boys and the stock ram. It was such a gentle and well mannered integration and soay sheep are absolutely the best #Defaidodon #soay
