Let’s drop the speed limit there to 10 mph and allow pedestrians to legally walk in the street without a “closed” sign. #SharedStreets #SB5595

@Bman At tour of #Broadway #SharedStreets I asked specifically about how businesses got deliveries. The answer: Early dropoff before tables and chairs come out and handtrucks from side streets. Summarizing. NOT A PROBLEM! No change from existing methods though likely easier to park now and certainly more activity.

Remember, the idea of “shared streets” doesn’t work if the theory is that everyone’s on an even playing field, because they’re not. Cars need to be prioritized last, usually moving no faster than walkers stroll.
