#sharedrop doesn't work very well with #ipv6.
tl;dr: the default room name is generated based on the public IP of the device. This works for IPv4 as all LAN clients share the same public IP. IPv6 has multiple IPs - even per device - so that mechanism doesn't work.
My idea is to generate the room ID for IPv6 clients based on their /64 prefix.
WDYT?

#snapdrop is amazing and I can't find another tool like it. Snap drop also goes down all the time, like an unreasonable amount for what it is, and then I have to confront the fact nobody else on earth apparently had the same idea and I have literary no other options thanks to my works bad security policy. Or they are trash like #sharedrop which has literally never worked. Not even once.

@dantescanline you know #ShareDrop it's a WebRTC thingy for file transfer. i don't use it that often, but it seems reliable now.
well WebRTC won't work with Tor and they say it won't work with VPNs either, but if that's not an issue you may wanna check it out. :)
