2. It falls back to websockets so you can still use it while offline for the local network.

Was kann man damit machen?

-> Einfach, schnell und sicher Daten (oder Nachrichten) von einem Gerät zu einem anderen übertragen, wenn sich die beiden Geräte gleichzeitig im gleichen Netzwerk befinden.

-> Einfach, schnell und sicher über «Peer-to-Peer» eine Direktübertragung von Daten (oder Nachrichten) machen, wenn sich die beiden Geräte gleichzeitig im gleichen «temporären Raum» befinden. Das geht auch, wenn sich die beiden Geräte nicht im gleichen Netzwerk befinden.

Dabei spielt es keine Rolle, auf was für einem System du dich gerade befindest, denn für die Übertragung braucht es nur einen Browser.

@jonah Yea, I just tried a video and it auto-compressed. Went from 200mb to 5mb. Quality was noticeably worse, but not terrible. For documents, I don't send them a lot. I #selfhost #zipline, #filerun, and #pairdrop instances, so I could use one of those in a pinch.

@TheRealDanini @rival yeah, #SnapDrop never worked well for me either, even with good network and browser conditions. #LocalSend works every time. #PairDrop looks cooler but it didn't work very well either.

@rival used #snapdrop before but never heard of #pairdrop. I never had a good experience with it because the servers would randomly go down, plus it is a #webapp and if I am going to be on the internet to access it I might as well use cloud storage at that point.

personally I use #localsend because I don't need the internet to use it, I can use a hotspot without internet and it would still work.

I love #Localsend, #KDEConnect, #Pairdrop / #Snapdrop and the like for sending images / text / documents / files between devices of all kinds, but they all seem to rely on the devices being on the same network.

Are there any #Airdrop alternatives out there which use other tech and work on Android?

@federicobattaini beh innanzitutto con #pairdrop non serve installare software e funziona con qualsiasi dispositivo che abbia un browser: dal pc, allo smartphone alla console fino alla TV ;)
Anche https://pairdrop.devol.it non ha bisogno di internet e scopre tutti i dispositivi nella stessa rete WIFI, inoltre può creare gruppi e inviare messaggi se ad es. devi inviare una password lunga ad un altro dispositivo.
Può in più collegare utenti lontani su internet ;)

Se volete spostare file fra i vostri dispositivi o volete farvi passare un file al volo da un collega o amico da un'altra città ora potete usare il nostro nuovo servizio pairdrop:
