At 5:30 AM, the UESF bargaining team came to a tentative agreement with SFUSD that will have lasting impacts on students, communities, and our city.

'Moderate' means #rightwing to me. He had alot of Republican support as well. What's this #GOP group the #BrionesSoceity? They seem to be anti-homeless people, and for '#market-based solutions to housing' (Market-based anything is the last thing the public needs in the #UK, the U.S. or anywhere else. 'Market-based is the problem).
They also believe in #schoolvouchers (believes in reallocating #SFUSD's budget to fund vouchers), #charterschools, so-called 'school choice', nothing about support for public schools, 'civic education, not political indoctrination' sounds like #righwing dog-whistle shit to me.
Homeless: 'A hand-up, not a hand out ' sounds like the same old boomer nonsense from Tony Blair's era, reduce funding of #harmreduction programmes, lower threshold for #mentalhealth conservatorships (I suppose turn the homeless into #BritneySpears)
Doesn't sound good.
Also, #billionaires, #rightwingers and #farright scum have been trying to take cover cities known for a progressive reputation.
So, it all sounds sus IMHO.
America has a #BillionaireProblem.

@MLNow Wish I’d noticed the byline sooner. #sfusd is a financial disaster area, and a product of decades of neglect and poor management. Joe identifies real problems but waves away the real need to close schools to match the shrinking population and you find out on the last paragraph his kids school was affected. Anyone looking for a real analysis of the districts budget problems would be better off spending 10 mins reading anything Paul Gardiner wrote on his excellent blog https://sfeducation.substack.com

Every #SFUSD kid worth their salt has daily experience riding #SFMuni, walking, or riding to get to school—and that gives them freedom to independently navigate all of #SanFrancisco and wherever they end up living as adults.

SFUSD school closings don’t go far enough. Have #SFUSD close all its schools and build one new mega school in the Nordstrom’s shopping center. I don’t know if it still is but the underlying land used to be owned by SFUSD so presumably they could get the building inexpensively, nobody else is using it, and it’s a convenient centralized location for transit access from all points in the city. #schoolclosing #schoolclosure #sfba
