The filing *appeared* to try to correct an obvious violation of the #law when it abruptly announced revocation of #Harvard’s #SEVP certification w/o proper process.
But the 30-day delay does little to address the core questions in the case.
The #Trump admin has sought extensive documentation from Harvard, requesting, among other things, coursework for EVERY international student & information on any #StudentVisa holder involved in misconduct or *illegal* activity. -
The case before Judge Burroughs was filed after #KristiNoem revoked #Harvard's #SEVP certification to enroll non-US #students.
In announcing the decision, Noem, without providing #evidence, accused the #university of "fostering violence, antisemitism, & coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party." [#FigLeaf]

#Harvard has said losing that right would affect about ¼ of its student body & devastate the school. It has denied #Trump admin fig leaf charges of alleged bias against conservatives, fostering antisemitism on campus & coordinating with the Chinese Communist Party.
DHS claims it sent Harvard the notice after school ofcls indicated an intent to comply w/requirements of the federal #SEVP [but it already does so total BS].

The lawsuit, which accused the #Trump admin of a “campaign of retribution” against the #university followed an announcement on Thurs that #Harvard’s Student & Exchange Visitor Program [#SEVP] certification was revoked, halting the university’s ability to enroll #InternationalStudents. The university indicated that it would also be filing a request for a temporary restraining order [#TRO] asking a judge to immediately block implementation of the admin action.

Here is the letter dog killer #KristiNoem sent to #Harvard, [she of course posted it on X].
It does not allege ANY violation of the Student and Exchange Visitor Program #SEVP. Not one. She cites no #law violated, no regulation broken, no policy ignored.

To be clear, all #InternationalStudents, there are thousands, enrolled for next year at #Harvard will not be able to continue studying if this isn't challenged in court. [it will be]
The Student & Exchange Visitor Program (#SEVP) certification & the Student & Exchange Visitor Information System (#SEVIS) is managed by #ICE & #DHS.
However a review process is required for revocation. As far as I can tell, that has not happened, nor would any of #Trump’s *reasoning* hold up under scrutiny.
