Drumpf already warned "his people" that if they lose the midterms & the #Dems retake the #House & #Sentate that he expects to be impeached again.

So, they KNOW what they're doing is WRONG & that they could go to jail for it. 🤦‍♂️

I don't think it would matter if Newson conditioned Butler's appointment based on a promise "not to run" for the seat in 2024 because, even if she made that promise, what could he do if she broke it? Revoke the appointment? Not sure that's even possible once she's sworn in.

She'd have to voluntarily resign (or he'd have to sue her for breach of contract, if there is one) & the latter would look good politically and wouldn't be practica legally in terms of the timeline.

Personally, I don't think she'll try to run but we'll find out in Dec when the necessary papers to run in 2024 have to be filed.

The reasons not to run are: 1) the short filing deadline, 2) the 3 already declared candidates who are way ahead of her in fund raising, 3) the fact that few people know anything about her, 4) the effort it will require to raise $ in order to get people to know her & 5) the availablilty of a good lobbying job to go back to that should be enhanced by her time in the Senate.
