If you’re going all the way to Redmond from the north or to Woodinville from the south, I would take Redmond Central Connector and Eastrail, over to/from Sammamish River via 145th. That adds some distance but it’s near-zero car interaction and both RCC and Eastrail are fine routes.
The biggest hit will be to people going north from Redmond who would have to backtrack all the way down to 116th (at least) if they don’t know about this. 145th and 116th are the reasonable crossovers; you can cross at 124th, but that’s shoulder riding on a four-lane, vs. 116th which is bike lanes and a two lane road.
The least they could do is put up some goddamn signs.
