I’m really getting to reflect on the paradoxical nature of #homelabbing, #selfhosting, and #technology in general as I work to build a full-spectrum #cybersecurity stack from basically the ground up. The paradox being that if I could afford to, I would absolutely pay somebody or somebodies to host this crap for me and just use it as a service, but by so doing rob myself of the experience gained by building it myself; however, in struggling to build it for myself, I spend less time learning how to use the tools properly because it’s damned near impossible to get them all working together without some sort of sacrificial ritual.
To clarify, I’m not above #ritual #sacrifce, but none of the witches in the local coven will teach me the right one. Turns out broomstick jokes fly about as well as actual broomsticks. Ha! #rimshot
