Nineteen Years in Second Life and Still Pretending I Know What I’m Doing
This morning, I received one of the few emails that doesn't immediately make me wonder what subscription I've accidentally renewed. It was a friendly congratulations from Linden Lab, wishing me a happy 19th Rez Day. As if I needed reminding. Not that I had forgotten, of course. I absolutely knew. I was merely pretending to be surprised because it feels more dignified than admitting I've had the date mentally circled for weeks. "Oh? Nineteen years already? Goodness, how time flies." As it is 21 years since I have been in Second Life in August, it is a big mile stone so this time I really should plan a celebration there rather than doing nothing.
I'll need to find a venue, send invitations and put a playlist together for the music. I might even try to dj.

It is coming up to my 21st Rezday in Second Life in August and I need to think of celebrating it there as it such a landmark!
I am toying with the idea of trying to dj my own Rezday party there which could be fun. :)

Tomorrow is my sixth rezday, @Juno Rowland's fifth rezday and also International Jazz Day.
A pity that there doesn't seem to be any good opportunity to celebrate either. Today's event at the Moka Efti may pretty well have been the only DJ event with a focus on jazz in all April.

I can't believe it's actually been 21 years (and a couple days) since I first joined #SecondLife, way back on March 23, 2005. 🦊 This virtual world is not without its challenges, of course, but it's still an amazing place (with amazing people) that keeps me coming back over two decades later. #RezDay

A pity that it's also the last Wednesday of the month, so we'll celebrate it in a location that doesn't really have enough room for dancing couples. Had I thought of this, I would have talked the host into taking this month's event elsewhere like the Beat-Club. Or Juno could have asked to not only celebrate our birthday, but also 100 years of art déco at the Moka Efti.

Four years ago today, I entered the worlds of OpenSim for the first time. My first avatar doesn't exist any longer, it went under with the Metropolis Metaversum in July, 2022. Still, April 30th remains my rezday.
Three years ago today, my little in-world sister @Juno Rowland joined me, so we can celebrate together.
We're going to attend a weekly event today, and I'm pondering what I could do for this occasion.
