  1. I can't believe it's actually been 21 years (and a couple days) since I first joined , way back on March 23, 2005. 🦊 This virtual world is not without its challenges, of course, but it's still an amazing place (with amazing people) that keeps me coming back over two decades later.

  2. Just discovered the phenomenal &Freddy this afternoon, thanks to @lokieliot playing the group's new song "Dance The Pain Away" during his DJ set at The Vortex club in . Officially obsessed with the music video too: youtube.com/watch?v=1BhJBoSILk4

  3. Apparently I've been living under a rock, because even though I had heard of before, I knew almost nothing about her or her career until today. 🏳️‍⚧️ I love this interview with her: youtu.be/NmlKeMyXpCU Just sad to see so many trolls in the comment replies, "correcting" her pronouns.

  4. And while you're here, make sure to check out the miniature of the SS Galaxy (sl-aviation.fandom.com/wiki/SS) that my friend Snowlord made, entirely from prims! Snow also has an exhibit of his own, Primfection, definitely not to be missed: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife

  5. A big thanks to Maxwell Graf for reminding me that I never posted about my exhibit! It's a 3D terrain model of Sansara and Heterocera, SL's oldest mainland continents: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife SLB will be open till July 20, so there's still time to visit.

  6. I had the privilege of attending a sold-out talk by at the Arlington Theatre last night, organized by UC Santa Barbara's Arts & Lectures. Pete was eloquent and inspiring, acknowledging the challenges we face but also offering reasons for hope. ❤️

  7. I have so many projects that I've dreamed about for years but not yet committed to the page. Faced with the unchecked proliferation of AI, I'm almost feeling like I might have missed my chance.

    I want to believe that there are still enough people out there who would prefer to read work written by a fellow human, not an LLM. Still, it's more than a little discouraging sometimes, especially for someone who studied Creative Writing as part of their MFA.

  8. I joined on March 23, 2005, which means (hard as it is to believe) that I've been a part of this amazing virtual world for twenty whole years now! 😲🦊🎉 Where did all the time go?!?

  9. Another year, another ! 😅😯 I've been in for nineteen years now, and don't plan on leaving anytime soon. 🦊 For all its imperfections, this world is still unmatched in many ways—as both a community and an outlet for creative self-expression.

    @secondlife

  10. @lelanicarver Thank you! ^ - ^ And yeah, definitely plan to do more. Time permitting, I would love to make models like this for *all* of the mainland continents.

    Until then, feel free to visit my exhibit inworld to see some of my smaller terrain models up close: maps.secondlife.com/secondlife

    I also made a similar video in Blender last year of the largest of those models, showing the 71-region Sakura subcontinent in Bellisseria: youtu.be/Y67hXHJUAkQ
