Our handyman is the best.
Many minor repairs to do b4 listing our house.
Found his business card on a billboard at the local health food store 10 yrs ago.
Electrical, plumbing, drywall, doors, general damage / wear, he does it all, for 10-15% of what it wd cost to get a pro company.
I've heard the saying about having a good car mechanic, but handyman ranks slightly higher in my book. -

My two new pipes for Oregon arrived today (can’t risk taking my favorite green one on a plane, even after cleaning with isopropyl alcohol).
It was super hard to find these; went to 4 local shops, searched online for hours; it seems nobody makes these basic ones anymore.
Finally had to order two with random (surprise) colors, was hoping for blue, green, or purple, these silver & black ones are OK.
Very metal 🤘. -

Movers arrived; boss is saying that there are trees at each end of our block with branches too low to get his truck to our house. Now he wants to rent a U-Haul and shuttle all of our belongings to his truck a few blocks away. What a bleeding nightmare.
Good thing we got a "Not-To-Exceed" price contract; our research on companies early on will hopefully save us there, but now it's going to take them all day instead of 4 hours.
I was really hoping to get some sleep this afternoon. -

Sold a car to Carvana last week, bought one in Oregon to be delivered to the new home soon, and will sell one more here next month. Carvana was super easy, but of course you don’t get top value. After selling our two, we’ll have one Prius for only $4K more out-of-pocket.
So much logistical work this past month, but almost there!

Packed up my musical gear and hats today, and fixed a few things that needed fixing before we sell this place; still had time for a swim. That pool is one of the few things I'll miss about Florida.

Wifey found a place that will convert our old photographs, in bulk, for a reasonable rate. Spent a couple days going through a 4' x 2' x 2' cardboard box, ranging from the 1970s to mid 2000s. I got the packet down to about the size of two loaves of bread. Tossed all the dupes, negatives, and unwanteds.
But--
And here's the rub--
When I get ahold of those digital files, you peeps are going to be in for a rough ride.

Wifey found a place that will convert our old photographs, in bulk, for a reasonable rate. Spent a couple days going through a 4' x 2' x 2' cardboard box, ranging from the 1970s to mid 2000s. I got the packet down to about the size of two loaves of bread. Tossed all the dupes, negatives, and unwanteds.
But--

Sweet Jebus, that took a lot of research (weeks) to find a Carrier (NOT a Broker, who sells your move to a smaller, local company), comparing in-home estimates, yada yada yada.
It's going to be a busy couple months, and then we will be praying our old house sells quickly (the market here in FL is screwy for Sellers right now).Fingers crossed!
