Thinking about all the people who grew up #religious but never had their parents behind them so a parental god looks like oppression while a safe family conveys an image of a loving, present God that people can rest their conviction on with certainty.
A certainty they practiced through trust in their parents, they couldn't fathom the uncaring cruelty of the god presented in a home without parental support and love. 1/2
