A Eurasian Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) at RSPB Middleton Lakes last month, near to where I watched a singing Sedge #Warbler earlier the same day. Both birds, uncharacteristically, perched where I could photograph them, although this one did keep his head behind that reed stem most of the time!

The #ReedWarbler is much more difficult to photograph than some of its relatives.
Not because it is so rare. It is common and can be seen frequently: But first it sits and sings low in the reeds and when it leaves, the nimble brown ball flies to its destination and disappears again between the stalks.

Nochmal der #Teichrohrsänger von gestern. Er muss mich gesehen haben. Aber ich war ihm total egal. Birder gehören zu den wenigen, die gern egal sind.

Die #Teichrohrsäger hüpften mindestens zu dritt durchs Schilf. Schatten, Rufe, Gesangsfragmente und ab und zu für wenige Sekunden so ein Lichtblick.

Der #Teichrohrsänger ist ein relativ scheuer Vogel. Er flüchtet zwar nicht vor dir, versteckt sich aber tief im Schilf. Hier ist ein Pärchen ausnahmsweise laut rufend durch eine Weide gehüpft, so dass ab und zu ein Auge sichtbar war.
