  1. A Eurasian Reed Warbler (Acrocephalus scirpaceus) at RSPB Middleton Lakes last month, near to where I watched a singing Sedge #Warbler earlier the same day. Both birds, uncharacteristically, perched where I could photograph them, although this one did keep his head behind that reed stem most of the time!

  3. The #ReedWarbler is much more difficult to photograph than some of its relatives.
    Not because it is so rare. It is common and can be seen frequently: But first it sits and sings low in the reeds and when it leaves, the nimble brown ball flies to its destination and disappears again between the stalks.
