Finished #RedRising today. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, the it definitely felt like a slow burn but the ending definitely landed and had some nice highs in the finale.
I think in the end it just felt a bit too close to Hunger Games for me, though it does appear to be leaving that phase moving forward. I'm still waiting on the next #DungeonCrawlerCarl installment so might dive into the next book in the meantime to see where it all goes.

I know everyone and their editor has reviewed this one. The story, world, writing, and characters are all phenomenal. The best part for me was how smart and creative the characters were in the last third of the book. I read the audiobook and sat grinning like an idiot for the last four hours! 9/10
Also, the audiobook performances across the series are incredible.

Well, rereading Red Rising made me once again yearn for a faithful and epic adaptation of this masterpiece. Instead of another Hunger Games prequel, they should have done this.

I make no apologies for this terribly niche meme, my friend who has also read the #RedRising series is a massive Spurs fan, so when I got to the end of chapter 30, I had to rapidly create this meme for him. I'm not sure the overlap of the Venn diagram of "red rising fans", "football fans", and "Mastodon users" is big enough for anyone but me to find this funny, but I'm inflicting it on you all none-the-less.

Now reading: #Oathbringer (Sanderson) and #RedRising (Brown).
On deck: #ShatteredEarth (Tchaikovsky), #StarterVillain (Scalzi) and #HailMary (Weir).

Ugh, Pierce Brown has ruined me with the Red Rising book series. I finished the 6th book a few weeks ago and can’t seem to get into any other books because I want to stay in the Red Rising universe. I know there’s supposed to be the final book out later this year, but that’s going to take soooo looong.

I finished Red Rising by Pierce Brown. Really fun read. Jumping into the next book, Golden Sun. The full cast audiobook by GraphicAudio really immerses you into the world so happy they did three of the books. #books #redrising

I've been reading #theexpanse since christmas 2023 and just finished 'Leviathan Falls' - what an amazing series!

Started #reading the #novel #Lightbringer by #PierceBrown last week and I'm at the last part. It's basically the only novel series, I still stick to.
My main problem with ongoing series is that I forget most of the content between the release dates. Same goes for the #RedRising stories nowaydays. Lightbringer was released last year, there's no release year for the next novel, yet.
Guess I'll have forgotten most of the content until then 🥴

A sci-fi dystopian fantasy novel set in an alternate world.
They say it's a huge hit. I got only mixed feelings though. Would like to try the next part of this series. Will see how that goes...

January. If I hadn’t been invited along to an all day session where I got 6 games in it would have been a very poor month.New to me games
#RedRising collect cards that synergise in your hand and try to avoid your opponents doing the same. Hard to figure out what is best but we all wanted to play again.
#Planetfall tableau building game that didn’t seem to have much depth really, or maybe I just picked the right thing for an easy win.

I enjoyed #PierceBrown 's 6th book in the #RedRising series, #Lightbringer .
Minor annoyance, his tendency to [not very] discreetly hide Monty Python, Big Lebowski, etc references in lighter parts. Totally destroys the immersion.But fun series. I thought this was going to be the last book, but I guess at least one more will be coming up.
