Finished #RedRising today. I'm still not sure how I feel about it, the it definitely felt like a slow burn but the ending definitely landed and had some nice highs in the finale.
I think in the end it just felt a bit too close to Hunger Games for me, though it does appear to be leaving that phase moving forward. I'm still waiting on the next #DungeonCrawlerCarl installment so might dive into the next book in the meantime to see where it all goes.

Well, rereading Red Rising made me once again yearn for a faithful and epic adaptation of this masterpiece. Instead of another Hunger Games prequel, they should have done this.

These past couple years, I’ve gotten back into #fiction reading. Mostly #scifi and #fantasy, of course. For a precious few minutes a day, entire worlds are opened up to me. I can’t describe how wonderful it’s been.
Now reading: #Oathbringer (Sanderson) and #RedRising (Brown).
On deck: #ShatteredEarth (Tchaikovsky), #StarterVillain (Scalzi) and #HailMary (Weir).

Ugh, Pierce Brown has ruined me with the Red Rising book series. I finished the 6th book a few weeks ago and can’t seem to get into any other books because I want to stay in the Red Rising universe. Started #reading the #novel #Lightbringer by #PierceBrown last week and I'm at the last part. It's basically the only novel series, I still stick to.
My main problem with ongoing series is that I forget most of the content between the release dates. Same goes for the #RedRising stories nowaydays. Lightbringer was released last year, there's no release year for the next novel, yet.
Guess I'll have forgotten most of the content until then 🥴

"Red Rising" by Pierce Brown.
A sci-fi dystopian fantasy novel set in an alternate world.
They say it's a huge hit. I got only mixed feelings though. Would like to try the next part of this series. Will see how that goes...

I enjoyed #PierceBrown 's 6th book in the #RedRising series, #Lightbringer .
Minor annoyance, his tendency to [not very] discreetly hide Monty Python, Big Lebowski, etc references in lighter parts. Totally destroys the immersion.But fun series. I thought this was going to be the last book, but I guess at least one more will be coming up.
