More Aunt Winnie update:
I found her! I think I found Winnie's partner.
I had already read a bunch of Winnie's obituaries in different newspapers so I wasn't expecting to find anything in this one.
It was one line in one obit where someone was brave enough to write:
"Miss Christensen, who made her home here for some two decades with her friend, Miss J. G. Morse..."
And later in the obit it says Winnie left Medflield after "Miss Morse" passed away the previous year. That was enough for me to find her on FamilySearch.org, get her full name, and do a newspapers.com search
