What happened to pypandoc_binary over the last month. It went from 400k downloads / month, to 19.000.000 downloads / month. Keep in mind that the regular pypandoc has stayed at around 3.700.000 downloads / month.

Just, what the heck.

Also the number for pypandoc_binary is still climbing. Wonder how high it will go

Fun fact.

As people might know, I maintain "pypandoc".

But did you know, that 'pypandoc' actually have 2 packages on PyPI?

The regular 'pypandoc' package that people typically install.
And then it also has 'pypandoc_binary' which comes with a version of pandoc packaged - so you can get started right away.

pypandoc_binary, for the first month, just surpassed 1.000.000 downloads in the last 30 days.

That's amazing news.
That means, that the total pypandoc project has been downloaded over 4.500.000 times over the last month.

That's amazing - I'm so honored.

So I also leaned today, that "University-of-Strathclyde-" ( [email protected] ) a scottish university is using my python package "pypandoc" in their open source pandoc webservice. That's super cool.

- Better HTML and plain text output support
- Only enforce plain text character count and only when publishing
- See the plain text character count live in the Admin UI
