🐶A ver, tengo que contaros otra de mis crónicas diarias porque esto ya pasa de castaño oscuro.
Resulta que mi vecina, que es un sol y la persona con la que mejor me llevo del mundo, tiene un vivero a la salida del pueblo (por cierto, si necesitáis plantas ya sabéis dónde ir, que son una maravilla).
El problema es que la mujer es más social que las pesetas y conoce a medio planeta.¿Y qué pasa?
Pues que le ha dado por organizar una especie de peregrinación continua a mi casa para traer a todos y cada uno de sus conocidos a ver a mi Mochi.
Que yo entiendo que el perrete es una monada, pero es que todos los que entran por la puerta repiten exactamente el mismo guion:
"¡Ohhh, si es que parece un peluchito!".A ver, que sí, que mi perro es un amor y un peluche andante, no lo niego, pero de ahí a que mi salón parezca el santuario de Lourdes por el que tiene que pasar todo hijo de vecino, pues mira, tampoco hace falta.
¡Que cualquier día me toca empezar a cobrar entrada o a poner fila para las visitas!En fin, se le quiere igual, pero qué paciencia hay que tener a veces con las relaciones vecinales.

🙉Esta semana mi casa ha pasado de ser hogar a refugio oficial anti-ruido fallero 😅
Han llegado “okupas” temporales, huyendo de las disco.móvil que en la ciudad no entienden de relojes y se alargan más allá de las 4 de la mañana.
Porque una cosa es trasnochar por gusto
y otra muy distinta madrugar sin haber dormido.
Ahí no hay siesta que arregle el cuerpo.Así que nada, familia ampliada por unos días, café en modo supervivencia y paciencia en bucle.
Las fiestas están muy bien… pero dormir seguido también era un planazo, oye 😂🧨🧨🧨

Todo el día había llovido sin descanso.
Una de esas lluvias pesadas que no hacen ruido, pero lo empapan todo: los tejados, los caminos, las paredes viejas del pueblo.Al caer la noche, la lluvia paró.
Y llegó la niebla.
Al principio fue algo normal.
Una capa blanca bajando desde el monte, cubriendo la plaza, los coches, las farolas que empezaron a verse borrosas como si el mundo estuviera desenfocado.En los pueblos nadie se sorprende demasiado por la niebla.
Pero aquella tenía algo raro.
No se quedaba fuera.
Se movía.
Muy despacio, empezó a arrastrarse por las calles como si buscara algo.
Se pegaba a las puertas.
Subía por las ventanas.
Se acumulaba en los marcos.Y luego empezó a colarse dentro.
Por las rendijas.
Por debajo de las puertas.
Por los agujeros invisibles de las casas viejas.
Algunos pensaron que era imaginación.
Otros dijeron que la humedad hace cosas raras.Hasta que alguien abrió la puerta de madrugada para mirar el patio.
La niebla entró en la casa como si estuviera esperando ese momento.
Silenciosa. Espesa.
La puerta volvió a cerrarse de golpe.
Por la mañana, el pueblo estaba limpio.
El sol había salido, los tejados brillaban y la niebla había desaparecido.Pero algo era distinto.
En algunas casas faltaba gente.
No hubo gritos, ni puertas forzadas, ni señales de nada.
Solo habitaciones vacías… y un detalle extraño que nadie supo explicar.
En el suelo, cerca de las rendijas de las puertas, había marcas húmedas.
Como si algo hubiera entrado…
y luego hubiera salido arrastrando peso.Esa noche volvió a llover.
Y en el pueblo nadie durmió tranquilo.
Buenas noches, criaturas valientes.
Si alguna vez veis que la niebla entra en casa… no respiréis demasiado hondo. 🌫️⋯⋄⋯⋄⋯⋄⋯

Friends in the #Denver metro area, and along the Front Range from #Cheyenne to #Pueblo, take note. Please don't cross the #picket line.
Many of my friends have worked at #KingSoopers over the decades. It used to be completely unionized, and a good place to work. #Kroger bought it out in the 1980s, and has steadily ground down the #unions ever since. I honestly don't know how much of a difference this #strike will make.
I do know the battle is worth fighting, and those who fight it are worth supporting. As convenient as King Soopers is around here, there are other places to shop. Do what you can, when you can, and maybe things will get better someday.

SHIPROCK, #NavajoNation -- "In his book published shortly before his passing, Klee Benally writes of going to the #NorthernNavajoFair and the #UraniumDump in #Shiprock that no one talks about. It is along the San Juan River, the same river that flooded this week, now eight months after Klee's passing.
"'The Northern Navajo Fair at Tsé Bit A'í (#ShiprockNewMexico) has been held for more than one hundred years,' Klee writes in 'No Spiritual Surrender: Indigenous Anarchy in Defense of the Sacred.'
"Klee describes how the fair each fall marks the changing of the seasons and the #harvest. He describes the neon glow of the carnival in the cold, dusty nights, and the #uniper fires that burn.
"All of this revelry is held right on #UraniumBoulevard just a couple miles from a massive 105-acre #Radioactive dump containing 2.5 million tons of #RadioactiveWaste on a site that was a former #UraniumMill (which is just 600 feet from the San Juan River.)'
"The Shiprock Uranium Disposal Cell studies showed that more than 1.8 million liters of #groundwater were contaminated with uranium, #selenium, #radium, #cadmium, #sulfate, and #nitrate.
"Now the #NavajoNation again is targeted by the #Nuclear Industry and #DebHaaland's radioactive agenda is being ignored.
"Speaking in Farmington, Interior Sec. Haaland said the transition to green energy in the #FourCorners region will be led by the #AtomicBomb industry, #LosAlamos National Laboratory, which has already poisoned #Pueblo lands in northern #NewMexico.
"There is no mention of the fact that there is no safe way to store #NuclearWaste.
Now, adding to the layers of deception, the U.S. #EPA is deceiving the public. The EPA doesn't actually clean up the uranium dumps and strewn #RadioactiveTailings from #ColdWar #UraniumMining on the Navajo Nation -- it only announces plans and promises to do it."#EricJantz, legal director of the New Mexico Environmental Law Center, told the Inter-American Commission on #HumanRights in March that the #EPA has not completed any of the cleanups.
"There are 524 uranium mine sites waiting to be cleaned up on the Navajo Nation. Zero -- none of these -- have been fully cleaned up, Jantz told the international commission.
The truth is people seldom talk about the uranium dump at Shiprock because there is so much strewn radioactive waste, and so many unreclaimed uranium mines, with radioactive waste strewn from Cameron to #MonumentValley, and across the Four Corners region."During the 1990s, on assignment for USA Today, I talked with #Dine' in #RedValley and Cove, south of Shiprock, down the mountain from where I lived. In every family, there was cancer. In every family, someone was dying of #cancer, or had already died, from cancer because of the uranium mining.
"One Dine' grandmother in her 80s was living in a stone home built of radioactive rock. We had a Geiger counter with us."
