An 3D-Tabletops hat sich TSR übrigens schon in den 80ern versucht

I was joking about WotC canning Sigil but it looks like that's just what they're doing! I don't understand how they're burying their much touted innovative VTT like that.
Don't get me wrong, I'm overjoyed that D&D isn't going to turn into Fortnite (at least for now), I just don't follow the reasoning.

Saw this video on youtube, where someone was saying that there had been layoffs at WotC, specifically the team that maintains "Project Sigil", with only a skeleton crew remaining.
Apparently, people aren't using the VTT, which is an issue, since WotC heavily invested in it, and it was supposed to be the new way to play D&D.
Be that as it may, take all this with a (big) grain of salt.

WotC entlässt 90% des Project Sigil-Teams
https://www.enworld.org/threads/90-of-d-d%E2%80%99s-project-sigil-team-laid-off.712430/

I've seen speculation the #ProjectSigil will allow users to import STLs. But with the fantastic and generous work of @mz4250 & other sculptors, WotC wouldn't be able to sell their models. I predict 2D imports only.
What does that mean for ♿ disability representation? Unless WotC adds it (not there yet in the #DnD Direct preview), they will literally only allow token representation. -

I'm sorry, but Project Sigil seems like a big, ambitious mess (and potential boondoggle). I do not like what I'm hearing; you should be able to coherently describe what it does and more importantly, what it's for.
