@ewen The TalkPhotography forum that I'm a member of sometimes has a zine exchange. I've thought about signing up a couple of times, but the two problems of design and coherent content have kept me away. #PostcardsFromAfar Signup now available for September. From @craftymoni: We are exchanging postcard sized prints of our original art. This includes photography, drawing, painting, collage, etc. The idea is to share your creativity and have fun! Names will be drawn mid-month. You will be matched with a person to send a postcard to. You only have to send one postcard to one person. If you don’t see your name in the dropdown list, choose “add me to the list.”
It's fun!

@tomnorthfilm Thanks Tom. That's #FilmFerrania #P33, a new 160-ISO emulsion. I think it's a wonderful film.
The odd thing about this image is that I printed it to use as a #PostCardsFromAfar , and it was just... nothing! Clearly my printing needs some work!

Took me a wee while to get to posting this but you have to see what I got in the post from @ChadHillPhotos !
This one is spectacular - definitely the first #PostcardsFromAfar postcard I've seen that is still the sender's own work, but also a 'real' postcard you can buy in a gift shop 🤯

All you need to be able to do is send a postcard-sized print of your own artwork to somebody anywhere in the world. Open to any medium - photography, painting, drawing, whatever floats your boat
I've been taking part for a few months and it's lovely getting wee artworks in the post 😊

I am triply blessed this month by #PostCardsFromAfar! I mentioned a few days ago an unofficial card from @moragperkins ; today I got a card with a XPAN picture (may actually be a wet print) from SF, and an envelope with two instax prints in from Leo (the person I sent a postcard to in April).

The May round of #PostcardsFromAfar is just opening. All you commit to is to send one postcard of your photography, art etc to one nominated person worldwide by the end of the month. If all goes well (with international post it sometimes doesn't) you'll get one back by early June (when you get it, please let the sender know via Elfster). It's fun and I've received some wonderful postcards.

@moragperkins I wonder if we could persuade @craftymoni to emphasise acknowledging receipt, in this month's call for #PostCardsFromAfar participants? It would be nice to know the card had arrived!
I also don't quite understand where the despatch notification goes. I've never had a notification vie Elfster that my sender has despatched, which would also be nice to know.

I'm a bit down about #PostCardsFromAfar at the moment. I haven't received either my March or April cards at this time (still early for April I guess), nor is there any signal that my March or April postcards have got through to their destinations. I did check with my [EDIT: March] person (in Australia) and it hadn't arrived, so I sent another via MyPostcard.com but still no sign. I'll keep trying though.

My #PostcardsFromAfar for April was this wonderful handmade darkroom print that is very much my sort of thing!
A big solid postmark had obscured the most important bit of information but I've just deciphered it and discovered it's from @ianwhitney! Thank you Ian, you have made my day 🙏
I expect May's swap will open up soon for those who want to join in, I'll share a link when it does.

I love my new (to me) original Leica A36 yellow filter thanks to @coldkennels for all his advice and being willing to sell and ship it across the pond. BEST PART was getting a print from him for my wall!
