In the late winter of 1991 I bought a Kodak Hawkeye camera with a smashed lens. It was very cheap, maybe a dollar or two.

I removed the broken parts of the lens and put in some tin foil with a pinhole. Then I shot a couple of rolls of Kodak 620 GB200 Kodacolor film in it.

This was the best picture, a thirty-second shot from my mother-in-law's garden out across Conception Bay (eastern Newfoundland) to Kelly's Island where the sun was setting, and the bay filled with ice.

I don't think I've used that pinhole camera since. I should drag it out again.
