birdradio: not really a radio, not just for birds. Raspberry Pi 3 with Pisound card and power bank; Wildtronics stereo PIP mic; bird feeder pole+base. Serves audio stream on the local network. Software: darkice+icecast2.

Main intention is to run this in the winter when the windows are closed and we can't hear the ambient sound of the outside world.

You might think of it as field recording as a continuous ephemeral stream.

Ok the #pisound likes my videos much more than my barebones raspberry pi 4…I’m just clueless why.
Here’s the pi 4 after it froze, really interesting patterns emerged. #glitch

Update on the #pisound rig:
Got the orca sequencer and a #vjloop running in parallel via #tmux
For now only #blinkenlights but it’s shaping up quickly and still runs on the raspberry pi 3b.

Is this the correct way to do threads 🧵? Anyway, got stuck yesterday with the PI because my knowledge was too outdated. Was looking to install „omxplayer“ to playback a video loop that I prepared but now it’s „mplayer“ which seems to be newer and a little different.

New live jam setup in the making. The plan is to have #orcaC running on the great #pisound shown on the projector. Than there’s also some room for either live graphics or some video Feedback loop things as shown here.
