RIP Rachel Naomi Remen, MD
“As a medical educator, therapist, and teacher, she enabled many thousands of physicians to find individual meaning and purpose in the practice of medicine and thousands of patients to remember their power to heal.”
I read her books early in my career, and in them saw how physicians can be storytellers, and how the art of storytelling makes us better physicians. I never had the opportunity to meet her, but some of my mentors did and told me how she changed (and saved) their lives
She truly influenced our profession for the better. She was saving lives from #burnout before it was a buzzword
