I'll be 51 years old, on February 3rd, 2026. I don't feel my age 😆
Photo is of me, paralyzed at #RefugeesCamp & me as an adult, decades later.

So, I just found out that #PortlandMaine lost a voice for peace and kindness earlier this year. Judith Southworth was the editor and publisher of #MaineWellBeing -- a holistic newspaper that also focused on Peace Action events and other peace and justice issues. I worked with Judith for seven years, and when Judith was getting ready to sell the paper, I had considered buying it, but I saw the writing on the wall for printed newspapers, and knew I would have to hustle to get and keep advertisers. My passions were with laying out the newspaper, taking photographs and creating illustrations, and most of all, writing! Judith gave me a chance to work on feature stories, which led me to meet with leaders of the #WabanakiNation and tell their side of the story -- something I received accolades for, including an honorary membership in the Passamaquoddy Nation from Chief Francis.
I ended up going back to college instead of buying the newspaper, but Judith found other buyers (who unfortunately only kept it going for another year). It was the end of an era, but not our friendship. Every once in a while, I would run into Judith -- at the grocery store, or at Peace Action events, where she would talk with me about her job helping elderly refugees in Maine, which she loved. She will be missed. Rest In Power, Judith!

David Swanson : English Poem Update
Do not go gentle to a deadly scene,
Japanese Translation
Wise eyes should question propaganda's sway;
Rage, rage against the awful war machine
Though ash-filled skies as yet remain unseen
Those undistracted raise their heads and say
Do not go gentle to a deadly scene
The panem et circenses scam obscene
A final curtain's dropping on this play
Rage, rage against the awful war machine
It hurts to turn one's eyes from lies serene
To question, fathom, challenge, and inveigh
Do not go gentle to a deadly scene
The path's not the other side but in between
A compromise is wisdom's only way
Rage, rage against the awful war machine
And you, my brother, of another flag
Join with us without borders or delay
Do not go gentle to a deadly scene
Rage, rage against the awful war machine死の現場に優しく行ってはいけない。
- World Beyond War
- War is a Lie: David Swanson BOok
Thomas Dylan's Poem, Do not go gentle into that good nightDo not go gentle into that good night,
- Poets.org: Do not go gentle into that good night
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
