I have discovered something about myself: I am a fantasy novel pedant. (maybe an all-novel pedant, but that's a reflection for another day.) totally bounced by people folding up parchments -- clearly written by somebody who never read or thought about parchments. they can be rolled, but folding is the kiss of death! today's question: how do you meet someone an hour before dawn? if this is a pre-clock society, what is your cue for that hour? do you have timed birds??
