@catherinecronin
Was wondering about that with #OER22. It didn't go very far, then, for a variety of reasons. That hashtag is still in my filter. In fact, it's the very first one before #OpenEducation. Sounds like there are enough people following #OER developments here that it could work.@marendeepwell @proftmac @cogdog @clementaubert @francesbell @sheilmcn @magsamond @jimgroom @weblearning @Andy_Tattersall @profmattdecarlo @jennihayman @annacpage

@mackiwg @oeglobal Care to elaborate on what's possible now which wasn't possible before 4.0? I did set up a hashtag filter, just before #oer22. Though maybe there's a better way to do it?
(Can't recall how rules worked, when I became active in the fediverse, a few years ago.)
To make it #OER related... It feels like following federated hashtags might be an approach to solve the (in)famous OER #discoverability conundrum. -
Archive of the #OER22 session Amanda Coolidge and I did earlier today How it Started/How It's Going: Celebrating 10 years of open textbooks in British Columbia https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dPACI2M5tYE

Watching @davecormier #OER22 session with Nick Baker on open scholarship and reminded me of the work that Amanda Coolidge did with the Driving OER Sustainability for Student Success (DOERS3) collaborative developing the OER Contributions matrix and how open activities could contribute & align with tenure & promotion https://bccampus.ca/2021/03/09/practitioner-perspectives-the-doers3-collaborative-on-oer-in-tenure-and-promotion/

I really love this image created & shared by Helen DeWard in her #OER22 session with Verena Roberts and Leo Havemann to illustrate the continuum of decisions that go into designing open learning experiences. Session archive at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcCGk_ROk6c

"If we are looking for things that are easy, the answers will be prescriptive. The answers will be big and they will be corporatized. If we want things to be small and holistic they will be hard. They will be work. They will make us take things that are imperfect and we need to be ok with that." @Telias on scalability of technology for her excellent #oer22 talk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USSA6dDoWso

Quote from @Telias at #OER22 "Most technology companies, EdTech, textbooks publishers, governments, and institutions replicate prescriptive approaches to their technological practices; many teachers, librarians, and faculty feel caught within such bureaucratic patterns." Speaks clearly to the systematic barriers educators face when trying to shift practices

My BCcampus colleague Amanda Coolidge and I are virtually at #OER22 this morning. It will be a celebratory talk focusing on the 10th anniversary of the B.C. open textbook library & we'll hit upon some lessons learned in those 10 years.

Ha!
Too bad I missed
Lorna's #OER22 preso about #OpenTextbooks for #MusicEducation.
https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/opentextbooks/Outside of my dayjob in OE, been slowly getting through a longterm, self-funded, informal, and fairly chaotic for #InclusiveMusicalLearning.
For a teaser:
> #HowMightWe build knowledge through music beyond #pianocentrism and #StaffNotation?
Not to be provocative. Hoping to be #ThoughtProvoking instead. https://www.rebus.community/t/alt-text-for-music-notation/1304/12

CBOX OpenLab showcase of the CUNY Commons in a Box open digital platform for teaching, learning & collaboration. I am seeing an instance running at Thompson Rivers University in the demo section, which isn't surprising knowing that @blamb has a long history with Commons in a Box #oer22 https://commonsinabox.org/cbox-openlab-showcase

I've updated my list of open educators on Mastodon at https://edtechfactotum.com/open-educators-on-mastodon/ and now tuning in for my first #oer22 session of the day with CUNY folks talking about their great Commons in a Box platform as open courseware

Just back from our #OER22 session.
We're an ad hoc group bringing together from Switzerland, Cameroon, and Canada. Given our multilingual contexts and core values in #OpenEducationalPractices, we've recently started a multilingual wiki through which we wish to develop shared understandings from the ground up.
Feel free to join us!https://houseofcommons.ch/wiki/index.php?title=Open_Education

Another solid resource from eCampus Ontario. I caught @greeneterry #OER22 presentation this morning about the Liberated Learners project, a resource created for learners by learners that helps post-secondary students develop the necessary skills and attitudes to be a successful learner in the digital age https://ecampusontario.pressbooks.pub/learner/
