Does anyone know how to show the outbox of an office365 business basic subscription (alas) in Thunderbird? Connecting to the inbox was easy. Outbox doesn't show. Sending a mail (hoping that would show the outbox) is refused.
Connect method is oAuth for inbox and outbox and inbox clearly works.
I need to get this going for a friend, to copy their mail to another mail server (non-microsoft). -

@randyridenour @jameshowell @greg @pymander No kidding! It took me forever to get the #O365 auth flow worked out, but #pizauth worked wonders with #mu4e.
Granted, I don't use email with or via #emacs, as I don't yet quite trust I won't wind up deleting everything on the server side. Plus, I have not yet sorted out the whole "everybody in the organization uses outlook calendar".

WTF? I was actually writing a fairly lengthy email when Outlook decided that I was signed out!
When I signed back in, there was no sign of my draft email at all. I'm seething a bit here.

Outlook is doing my head in again. On my desktop it has decided that I am signed out every time I bring my computer out of suspension. Every. Single. Time. Even if I log back into Outlook and then immediately put the computer to sleep and immediately log back in.
No settings have changed to make this happen.
Meanwhile the laptop is behaving itself just fine.

#Microsoft #O365 is weird and does odd, random things. Is this news to anyone?
This week my desktop insists that I am signed out of web outlook every time I log back into the computer. Other O365 web applications are open in the same browser and I don't need to login to them. Just outlook.
It's behaving itself (as much as it can) on my laptop though.

This means I can use up to date and original (yet closed) software for #MicrosoftWord (and other #O365 apps), being able to edit local documents, but not online ones… well, as a starting point it’s not so bad…

Just noticed MS Teams has a schedule send feature which is nice but I needs a setting to send when the person becomes available and not make me waste time finding a time slot after they are off 'do not disturb'. #O365 issues have been resolved per Microsoft. I'll believe it when I see it. Also, "caused by a combination of increased system load and temporary capacity limitations during scheduled maintenance"? Guess Copilot didn't warn you it could be an issue.

Es gibt modernere bessere Möglichkeiten das eigentliche Ziel zu erreichen und der Umstieg weg vom Gewohnten, weg vom aktuell Gelebten mag holprig werden aber er ist langfristig alternativlos, wenn man nicht in der Vergangenheit stecken bleiben und schlussendlich in irgendeiner Art unter die Räder kommen will.

I just read an article on InfoWorld, that Microsoft rolls out Agent 365 ‘control plane’ for AI agents. The description sounds quite well what an enterprise needs in terms of compliance and security:

I've faced various bugs, annoyances, and limitations of the online version within the browser.
What a drag.
Now I need to find somebody with a normal (local) Word version to fix all the things I could not do properly. 🤷

We are considering moving away from Microsoft for office work. Moving to GSuite is not an option.
What alternatives are out that that manage:
* Email
* Groupware
* File management
* Teams replacement
* Office suiteI'd prefer something integrated and, this is key, affordable for a small business. NextCloud looks great but it isn't something we can pay for.
Something that won't shock our users would be good

Just received an email from Microsoft about a 20%+ increase in my M365 subscription. They are taking the piss. Since none of my (otherwise perfectly performant) hardware supports W11, I have already been experimenting with Linux and Proton Mail and this will obviously encourage me to continue in this direction.

The #AI bubble is basically the same as the #Cloud bubble. Our IT #sysadmin group tried as hard as we could, but ultimately, #Microsoft active measures to destroy onsite servers and applications made it untenable to avoid #O365.
And now that includes being forced to use #CoPilot
We know this is a time bomb, but it is politically untenable (at this time) to migrate to #Linux desktol and #LibreOffice. -

If you're forced to use #Microsoft #O365, and you hate the AI taking over the interface, login to Outlook (www.outlook.com) instead of O365 (www.office.com). From Outlook, you can navigate to the other apps without AI in your face.
