  1. CNBC reports that federal regulators are now scrutinizing Tesla's Cybercabs just days after their commercial launch. The NHTSA has launched an audit to determine how the company certified these robotaxis, which notably lack traditional steering wheels and brake pedals, as compliant with safety standards. This probe highlights critical questions regarding the oversight of autonomous technology and whether current certification processes can keep pace with rapid innovation in self-driving vehicles. 8. Get out that Lug Wrench and tighten those bolts - Literally!

Latest Tesla Cybertruck recall (the 11th so far) on its Rear Wheel Drive model states that “brake rotor stud holes may crack and allow the stud to separate from the wheel hub." >> aka the wheels may fall off! wired.com/story/the-latest-tes #Tesla #CyberTruck #NHTSA #Safety #Recall #Brakes #Wheels #PickUp #Truck

  9. Tesla's FSD system is facing a growing list of investigations.

NHTSA has escalated its latest investigation to an Engineering Analysis covering an estimated 3,203,754 vehicles — the step that typically precedes a recall. There are now three concurrent NHTSA investigations into FSD, covering visibility failures, traffic violations, and crash reporting gaps.

FSD has engaged in what the agency calls "driving maneuvers that constitute traffic safety violations." The CORE PROBLEM = FSD can’t tell when it’s BLIND!

NHTSA states that in the crashes it reviewed, the system “did not detect common roadway conditions that impaired camera visibility and/or provide alerts when camera performance had deteriorated until immediately before the crash occurred.”

The conditions involved are not exotic edge cases and include sun glare, fog, and airborne dust — things any driver encounters regularly. electrek.co/2026/03/19/nhtsa-u #Tesla #FSD #AutonomousDriving #NHTSA #Recall #FullSelfDriving #Safety #HighwaySafety #Car_Crashes

  10. What do you mean you did not see it? It is a Bus and you just crashed into it!

Tesla has reported its Robotaxi fleet in Austin, TX has been involved in 14 incidents (crashes) since its launch in June 2025.

Looking at the #'s, the fleet likely reached around 800,000 miles by mid-January 2026 - that works out to one crash every 57,000 miles. The average American driver experiences a minor collision every 229,000 miles and a major collision every 699,000 miles. Er go, Robotaxi's are crashing at 4X for a regular human driver.

NOTE: All of Tesla's "incident" reports are fully redacted and flagged as “confidential business information.” Tesla remains the only ADS operator to systematically hide crash details from the public through NHTSA’s confidentiality provisions. electrek.co/2026/02/17/tesla-r #Tesla #RoboTaxi #FDS #AutonomousVehicles #Safety #NHTSA #CarCrashes #AutomatedDriving

  13. Complex issues will surface in the courtroom like #HumanFactors, mode confusion and #AutomatedDriving system internals that, frankly, judges and juries are going to be strained to understand and appreciate.

But the #NHTSA, in its infinite wisdom, is just tickled pink to have private litigation deal with #Tesla’s vast #Autopilot wrongdoings because the agency can continue to do nothing, which they do well.
