A first-time participant in the market #barrow competition picked up Grand Champion honors at the 121st #Missouri State Fair (#MSF121 ). Renee Conklin of #Hallsville showed the 277-pound light crossbred, after having shown gilts the past four years and horses before that.

Four different contestants at this year's #Missouri State Fair Queen Contest won the individual categories, but it was Miss Northeast #FFA Kelsey Miller who prevailed to win the crown. She'll represent the fair for the next year as queen and receive a $2000 scholarship. #MSF121

In her last year of eligibility, Payge Dahmer of Nevada #FFA achieved a feat I only recall seeing at poultry/rabbit barn. At Thursday's Market #Lamb Contest, Dahmer's crossbred lamb earned Grand Champion, followed by her Hampshire claiming Reserve Grand Champion. This will be her third consecutive year placing entries into the Sale of Champions at the 121st #Missouri State Fair (#MSF121 ).

A broken bone in May didn't end Ty Murphy's dream of returning to the Sale of Champions. Murphy had his #goat's cast with him as he led Coe to the top prize at the Market Wether Goat contest Wednesday at the 121st #Missouri State Fair.

The 121st #Missouri State Fair's first major market contest took place Tuesday morning, as 28 pens each containing four chickens were judged.
#Centertown's Hayden Duncan, representing #Columbia #FFA, earned Grand Champion honors, his third top prize in the contest. Blake Gates of Cairo, last year's winner, picked up reserve. Both pens will go under the hammer at the Sale of Champions at the end of this year's fair. #MSF121

When the 121st #Missouri State Fair (#MSF121 ) begins Thursday, it'll mark the start of the last fair that Mark Wolfe will direct. Over the summer Wolfe made it known that he will retire after this year's event, wrapping up two decades on the fairgrounds including 14 as director.
