Hey y’all, if you are not interested in #SpaceX nonsense stock, you have a couple hours to move your funds from #Russell indices and total market indices.

Effective today, with purchases registered first market open Monday, #FTSE Russell and #MSCI have added SpaceX to their indexes, mandating all passive funds tracking these benchmarks MUST purchase SpaceX shares immediately to match the index weight.

This creates guaranteed demand regardless of the stock's valuation or profitability. Estimates suggest passive funds must buy nearly $3 billion to $9 billion worth of shares today alone, contributing to a total expected inflow of over $20 billion. (!)

To make room for SpaceX’s massive weight (given its ~$2 trillion valuation), index funds must sell shares of profitable companies to buy into this tulip craze madness.

Ecolab ($ECL) reported Q3 EPS of $1.83, narrowly beating the forecast of $1.82. Revenue came in slightly under expectations at $3.99B compared to a $4.03B forecast.

D.R. Horton ($DHI) posted a Q3 EPS of $3.92, below the forecasted $4.18. Revenue also missed expectations at $10B vs. the $10.21B projection.

MSCI ($MSCI) exceeded forecasts with an EPS of $3.86 against the expected $3.76, and revenue of $724.71M vs. $714.59M.

WAVES, the other survey I led, covers the Virgo cluster (the 'V' in WAVES). I've also investigated environmental effects at other wavelengths, such as ionised carbon in Virgo in a recent paper
