Ismael es un joven con deseos de embarcarse en el océano que termina enrolándose en el Pequod, el barco de Ahab. Mein einziger Trost unter dieser Hitzeglocke: Moby Dick.
Steht seit dreißig Jahren im Regal. Warum nur habe ich nicht früher dazu gegriffen? Von der ersten Seite an begeistert.

Ich glaube, mich hat immer die Reduzierung auf Ahab bei allen Erwähnungen des Buches abgehalten. Dessen Besessenheit hat mich nie besonders interessiert.

Mai 1966, tauchte im Rhein bei Duisburg ein weißer Wal auf. Der damalige Duisburger Zoodirektor wollte den Meeressäuger fangen, um eine neue Attraktion für seinen Tierpark zu haben.
