Learned how to take images of my back and now I'm really discouraged about my second shirt attempt. I'll try to start fixing this terrible fit by lowering the armscye on the back piece but I suppose I should tackle that lousy yoke as well. I really want to get a pattern nailed down that fits but it looks like it's going to be a long process. #sewing #menwhosew

There’s an epic thread trimming session ahead of me yet, but Jorge’s denim vest is otherwise complete! Even I am impressed with all of this deco stitching. Whereas the vest itself used up less than a whole bobbin, the deco stitching used over six bobbins’ worth of thread. I altered a shirt of mine today. It’s a 10 year old Patagonia fleece that’s always been too long and I wear it more a jacket. I never tucked it in, so I took 4” off the bottom and it’s much better for me now.
Of course, now I have a button hole right at the bottom, but I’m sure I can find a creative way to hide or cover that.
My stepmom’s 70-year-old Singer is still a rock-solid machine. #menwhosew -

Legs and crotch are all done up on Jorge’s jeans, though I may go back and redo the last couple of inches of topstitch on the crotch fell as it approaches the fly. I didn’t do as good a job of shimming the foot as it came through all of the underlying fly bits as I could have. #sewing #MenWhoSew #lgbt #artist
