This is not my listing and the price is insane, even with the MOS6567 included. The license is actually non-commercial, but at least I was given proper credit.🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm totally intrigued by this #Commodore #MaxMachine on an auction site.
It comes in a box that I have never seen before and which is absolutely unusual for this model.😍
Seems to be from an era shortly before the #C64.

This adapter replacement for the MOS6566 can either use a MOS6567 or a MOS8562.
With the latter the picture quality is even better and since it runs on 5V there's less heat.
Next step: Create an SMD variant.

A generous friend sent me a MOS8562 for testing in my adapter.
I've already confirmed it works with a MOS6567, but these are harder to come by by the minute.
Should be an interesting test.🤞

So far I was only able to test it with a 6567 but I have a 8562 on the way.🤞

Just cosmetics really, but the silkscreen writings for MOS6566 and MOS8562 are inverted.

Added a logo to the MOS6566 adapter and ordered the pcbs.
Maybe I should put a warning near the jumpers that closing both will send 12V through your #MaxMachine.🤔

Finished routing the pcb for the MOS6566 to MOS8562 adapter.
I did it with a mixed approach, autorouter with manual cleanup.
Turned out quite OK, the 3D rendering isn't accurate though, because of overlapping footprints.

Like all Max cartridges, it can also be played on a #C64.
It's missing the cardboard inlay, but the box is in great shape.😍

This #Commodore #MaxMachine had a duff MOS6566 VIC-II chip.
The chip is incredibly rare, but with an adapter board from go4retro.com and a MOS6567 chip from @commodorelad I was able to repair it.

The pcb and parts for the #commodore #MaxMachine VIC-II MOS6566 adapter have arrived.
I couldn't help but soldering it together even though I'm still missing the MOS6567.
I'm tempted to say something heroic like "not my finest work harhar", but who am I kidding, this is probably as good as I'll ever be (yes, not a pro🤷‍♂️).

The adapter boards for the #commodore #MaxMachine have arrived. These can be used to replace the holy grail rare 6566 VIC-II chips with standard 6567 ntsc chips.
I'm still missing all the parts, but we'll get there.

Avenger is actually a pretty good #SpaceInvaders clone.
These are early Max cartridges but they can also run on a #C64.

So I didn't buy the last #commodore #MaxMachine...because I bought the one before.🥳
It arrived yesterday and look at its beauty. I mean LOOK AT IT.😍
It was sold as non-working but I have high hopes since it needs a cartridge to boot up.
If this one is working, then I'll probably sell or trade my other one which has a slightly less nice box.
