I think @mdallastella could use it. The manual moderation is getting very tedious.

I do not think so. There is a bad bug and ActivityPub messages can be forged.
Until all of the instances are upgraded, it can continue to happen. They are not all upgraded yet.
And there may be instances that intentionally do not upgrade, so I suspect they will get defederated.

Well I upgraded to 4.2.5 mobile client still works but the desktop web UI is broken ? I don't see any errors in the journalctl log bah what to do -

Okay! The upgrade to #Mastodon v4.2.0 was successful at last. But it wasn't easy.
Something is wrong with one of my hard disks. Just "compiling" all the files took about an hour. It's two disks in a RAID1, a #Toshiba and a #Seagate. The Seagate is significantly slower than the Toshiba, to the point where I believe it's a firmware issue.
Has anyone ever done a firmware upgrade on a HDD in #Linux? How did that go?
I also had issues with `mastodon-streaming` because of the absolutely ancient #NodeJS version that comes with #Ubuntu 20.04. I remebered I had one in `/usr/bin/node` and one in `/usr/local/bin/node`. This time I symlinked them instead of editing the systemd unit file.
And, as you can probably tell by now, I also changed my character limit to 4096 because why not?

#mastoadmim If you had issues that some gem files were not loaded after updating to Debian 12, try "bundle install --force" to fix it.

This is odd. Anyone on #mastoadmim notice that Android notifications via @Tusky are really delayed? About 15 mins after I had the Chrome notification the app notification happened. I don't even know where to start debugging this issue.

Ich hab öfters gehört, dass im Fediverse Server blockiert werden wenn sie andere problematische Server nicht auch blockieren.
Trifft das nur zu wenn Accounts auf der Plattform solche Inhalte teilen? Wird man davor vorgewarnt? Ist es zu dem Zweck notwendig die Server Sperrlisten öffentlich zu halten? Gerade bei jungen Servern ist das übernehmen langer Sperrlisten ja Handarbeit und so etwas wie ein Sperrlisten Abo gibt's meines Wissens ja noch nicht.

Fascinating: I am getting email delivery errors from mail being sent by some host in China using valid mastodon account names as the from address. I’m sitting in a beach chair right now so haven’t had a chance to look into it further. Anyone experience anything similar? #mastoadmim
