This is so cool, I just found out one of my games on Itch got a review😍 First review ever.
It's little things like this that make this hobby worth it.

Spend most of my evening today improving Itch.io pages of my games - adding backgrounds, banners, tweaking colors.
I think it turned out pretty great! #MansionMalevolence needed that facelift the most.

#MansionMalevolence is out for a week now, and I wanted to share a short postmortem about the game development. If you're interested in my thought process behind demaking Resident Evil into a card game, you can read all about it here: https://medium.com/@nerudaj/demaking-resident-evil-as-a-card-game-a1db51d6a3f3?postPublishedType=initial
If you haven't played the game yet, what you're waiting for? It is free, playable on Windows and Android: https://nerudaj.itch.io/mansion-malevolence

All right, another game is out! Mansion Malevolence is available for free for PC and Android on my Itch.io: https://nerudaj.itch.io/mansion-malevolence
The game is a demake of classic survival horror Resident Evil, reimagined as a solitaire card game that you can play in short bursts while commuting.
The game was made in C++, using SFML for rendering and sounds and TGUI for UI. Source code is available on GitHub: https://github.com/nerudaj/MansionMalevolence

A bit late to #ScreenshotSaturday, I would like to announce that Mansion Malevolence will release next Saturday!
Itch page is almost ready and I have only a few last minute bugs to squash 😊

One thing I am quite proud of is how I managed to translate classic Resident Evil enemies into super low-res sprites.
Here's a Cerberus for an example. From about 1000px to just 32px (in height).
-
How it started vs how it is going - my friend made me completely redesign the UI for the game and I am pretty content with how it turned out.
In other news, while I wasn't able to post in past month or so, I actually got the game close to the release, so stay tuned!

My survival-horror solitaire card game #MansionMalevolence is shaping up nicely. It still needs some UX refinement so the player has immediate feedback about dodge chances or what happens when doors are opened, but the core gameplay loop is there and is fun!

What do you think about this shotgun sprite?

Being late to #ScreenshotSaturday. I made the core three animations for my solitaire survival-horror game Mansion Malevolence - taking a card, skipping a card and the enemy attacking.
I also have drag drop system for using inventory cards implemented, now I need to male the gameplay interesting!

To implement drag n drop in my upcoming card game, I made a virtual joystick over the whole screen and when its value is nonzero, it means that user is dragging.
I could just listen to touch/mouse events, but going through virtual joystick means that I don't get fingers mixed up when user taps the screen with more than one finger.
