Via Pasts Imperfect, I've learned that the #NSF has just funded a project headquartered at Bryn Mawr to "use advanced #magnetometry equipment to ... map ... the city of #Cahokia, located in modern-day Illinois across the Mississippi River from St. Louis, Missouri ... home to ... 10,000 to 15,000 residents ... during the 10th and 11th centuries CE."
