A MacBook Pro 2017 is not a reliable multitrack audio recorder. Just saying. At least not with Dante Virtual Soundcard when used in summer. Something throttles the entire machine when it gets too hot. Happened to me several times in open air situations.
In winter times, it works well.
Which I find quite annoying, because… the thing works well, and it was expensive. It's just not built well… Now I could get myself a used M1, but only if it doesn't run the latest version of macOS, because then it likely would not work with my mobile recording audio interface any more. (RME Fireface 400.)
Also, I was paid 50 bucks for the backup recording that wasn't 100% stable now, and I can't buy a 500€ used M1 from that now.

Apple uznaje 11-calowego MacBooka Air i dwa inne Maki za przestarzałe
Apple dodało dziś trzy komputery do listy produktów przestarzałych.
Mowa kolejno o: MacBookach Air (11”, Early 2015), MacBookach Pro (13”, 2017, 4x Thunderbolt 3) oraz MacBookach Pro (15”, 2017).
Urządzenia trafiają na tę listę, gdy minie ponad 7 lat od zakończenia ich sprzedaży. Apple i autoryzowane serwisy zwykle nie oferują już napraw, choć w niektórych przypadkach można wymienić baterię nawet do 10 lat po premierze – zależnie od dostępności części.
11-calowy MacBook Air został wycofany w 2016 r., ale najpewniej sprzedawano go u resellerów do 2018 r. Obecnie najmniejsze MacBooki Air mają ekrany 13,6” i 15,3”. Pojawiają się też plotki o nowym 12,9-calowym MacBooku z chipem A18 Pro.
Apple przeniosło także iPhone’a 8 Plus (64 i 256 GB) na listę produktów vintage – czyli takich, które wciąż mogą być naprawiane, ale już tylko do czasu pełnego uznania za przestarzałe.
