  1. CW: Lucy Letby (CN child deaths, in case anyone didn't know)

    @Geri

    I'm not sure she did it actually.

    I'm not like "oh she couldn't have, because she was a nurse, and nurses are good!" And I don't mean someone else was doing murders.

    I mean she might've been scapegoated for the care on the ward not being adequate overall, and/or for a string of sad outcomes which are statistically what happens sometimes with vulnerable tiny people even if the care is good.

    A while back, I had a read of some analysis of the court case, and it did look to me as though some of the supposed proof was very shaky.

    (My thoughts are with the bereaved parents either way - a baby being murdered is terrible, but also having to _think_ your child was murdered is terrible even if they weren't)

  3. Doubling down on obvious falsehood doesn't lead to truth. But for decades, from the Birmingham Six to the hundreds of sub-postmasters. It's what the oxymoron "English justice" does to innocent lives.

    The £18m+ #Thirlwall Inquiry does it again, after #LucyLetby's #wrongfulConviction. It recommends costly protection against crimes which didn't happen

    I usually refuse to share #DailyMail articles. But this polemic by #PeterHitchens is excellent.

  4. British courts provide British justice; that's their job. Our job, as British citizens, is to accept their verdicts. So is guilty, until a British court says otherwise.

    So why is carrying out a retrial-by-media, following a report on the HOSPITAL? 🤬

  6. Another #stitchup. England has just spent a fortune on an inquiry founded on lies. 😡

    #LucyLetby was the scapegoat for a failed system. The Countess of Chester neonatal unit was in a failing building, plagued by sewage leaks. It was woefully understaffed, and had serious management problems.

    Letby was framed for crimes that never happened. The Thirlwall Report is a fantasy built on the lies which imprisoned Letby for life. Its recommendations frame nurses as suspects.
