The Thirlwall Inquiry, predicated on #LucyLetby’s guilt, has again found evidence that casts reasonable doubt on it. On 22 May the Inquiry released the full report into her successful grievance procedure against consultants at the Countess of Chester hospital, which the jury never saw.

Viewed through this lens, the destruction of trans rights in the UK is less exceptional. It is another episode in the long history of how power in the UK is repeatedly wielded by multiple power centres to override both democracy and rational justice.
